‘Show me God’ and I’ll show you my art!

450453579_9b77c684d4_10

He lives and exists in me. God is art. He brings freedom of expression. He is love, joy, and life. All that I need is to find Him in me.

He is the hope and inspiration. From the beggining I knew His call and I am there. Now I hear Him and i know i’ll be there. All that I need is to cast out my fear.

He is the mystery that unreachable by my dull soul. He’s so real yet so mysterious. All that I need is the sense to touch Him.

He saves me so I am alive. He is the source of life, the breathe and the blood that gives me energy to live. I am sick, painful, and restless. And yes, I know all that I need is to let Him flows inside of me.

I know i’ll reach my Canaan. A promised land full of joy and love. A place none can comprehend. And all I need is to bring you into my art.  You are my Art!

rest and relax

Cozy_1 Cozy2_2

it’s time to relax… sleeping, reading, with the windy breeze and cool air.

talk about color, art and pintings, lets talk about Monalisa Smile (1503-1507). Do you know why this painting becomes very famous? It’s said to be one of the most popular paintings, beside the sunflower by Vincent van Gogh and other renaissance masterpieces by Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael.

Contrapposto

Leonardo da Vinci is one of the first artists who applied this technique into painting. Contrapposto is an assymetric composition (of posture/figure) which builds the ‘sense of movement’ at the object and makes the object of art looks alive, real and dynamic. This technique at the beginning was applied on the work of sculptures. One of the most famous sculptures ‘David’ by Michelangelo is successfully achieve the movement effect from this technique. The artist conceptually just likes capturing the figure of the living object at certain dynamic action, just as modern tech-photography capturing the moving object.

Mystery

The lady in the painting ‘Monalisa’ until now is still a mysterious woman, and nobody can exactly describe her identity and explain who she is. Usually, at that era, artist will give any clue about the subjects they painted like ring, specific cloth, necklace and any other attributes to identify them. In ‘Monalisa smile’, none of them is found. Even the place, the landscape background at the painting is an unidentified place until now.

Excellent technique

Leonardo used a very fine brush to produce this painting which even under microscopic scale, scientist can’t find the brush stroke. His painting shows a very high quality detail (now with millions of cracks) like the softness of the lips, transparent fabric at the head of Monalisa, and many detail at the cloth and landscape.

At this painting Leonardo applied a multi layer technique for his painting, which explains why he must spend almost 4 years to finish it. With this technique the painting shows a certain quality of softness, giving the volume to the object and make it looks real.

Very impressive, isn’t it?

This year suppose to be my rest and relax year. Talk about rest and relax, it sounds related to art. And I just love to start learning art; thinking bout joining the NAFA basic western painting class. Mmm… really fun! Let’s make it a reality!

before you will be somebody

January 8th, 2007 by irsphoto

Inspired so much by Pastor Kong’s preach (founder of City Harvest Church) of ‘culture mandate’, and story behind Oprah Winfrey’s success, I found this article during my lazy moment in office. Check it out, it might be helpful for those lazy people like me..:)

Before They Were Somebody: First Jobs of the Rich, Famous and Powerful

By Meg Donohue, CareerBuilder.com writer

Paris Hilton aside, most celebrities aren’t born filthy rich. Stars generally work their way up the job ladder like professionals in any other field, and it may surprise you to learn just how low the first rung of the ladder to luxury can be. Each of these celebs has tasted his or her share of humble pie — hey, turns out we’ve all got to start somewhere!

Oprah Winfrey

Winfrey was self-helping her way to the top long before the world ever heard of Dr. Phil. Arriving at a radio station to collect a watch she had won through a promotional contest, a 16-year-old Winfrey read for producers and secured herself a spot as an on-air reporter earning $100 per week.

Radio announcer’s current income: $10.64 per hour

Winfrey’s current income: $225 million from June 2005 to June 2006

Steven Spielberg

Sure, Spielberg has three Academy Awards and millions of dollars in the bank now, but back when he was a 16-year-old intern at Universal Studios his paycheck wasn’t anything to "phone home" about.

(Unpaid) intern’s current income: Zero. Nada. Nilch.

Spielberg’s current income: $332 million from June 2005 to June 2006

Teri Hatcher

Looks like Hatcher’s wardrobe included short skirts decades before she made the move to

Wisteria Lane

. Back in 1984, Hatcher was lifting football fans’ spirits as a cheerleader for the

San Francisco

49ers.

Professional cheerleader’s current income: $15-$50 game

Hatcher’s current income: Estimated $285,000 per Desperate Housewives episode

Sean "Diddy" Combs

Diddy’s first job as a paperboy at 12 years old may have been a humble beginning for the hip-hop mogul, but he’s since soared from lowly to loaded.

Newspaper carrier’s current income: Minors delivering newspapers are exempt from federal child labor laws and can be paid less than the minimum wage ($5.15 per hour)

Combs’ current income: $16 million from June 2005 to June 2006

Dan Brown

Prior to papering the world many times over with his best-selling art historical novel, "The Da Vinci Code," Brown sculpted young minds as a high school English teacher.

Teacher’s current income: Median ranges from $41,400 to $45,920

Brown’s current income: $88 million from June 2005 to June 2006

Jennifer Lopez

Long before Jennifer Lopez sang, danced and acted her way to superstardom, she briefly traded in her velour tracksuit for a suit of the pin-striped variety while working at a law office.

Legal assistant’s current income: $39,130

Lopez’s current income: $10 million from June 2005 to June 2006

Irwan Soetikno

Long before he will be an annointed artist (in future) , he was a lousy architect who does not know how to design and has no direction at all about art. Jumped though many small design companies, low paid, and day-dreamer. But one thing makes him success is the one and only ‘little faith’ in ‘big God’.

Irwan’s future income: bigger than what he could have ever imagined!

Cheers :))))

burung gagak dan pohon mangga

Burung gagak dan pohon mangga

Akhirnya kutemukan sebuah kamar idaman. Di puncak, lantai empat. Di sudut, menghadap ke pandangan luas. Dua jendela lebar mengundang udara segar.

Di depan salah satu jendela tumbuh sebuah pohon mangga. Puncak ranting2nya persis berakhir di depan jendelaku. Daun2nya yang rimbun menjadi tirai, menghalau panas sinar matahari. Disitulah sang gagak sering bertengger. Riuh berteriak, sangat berisik!

Tengah malam saat tidur, kubiarkan jendela2 itu terbuka lebar. Angin sejuk mengalir. Sinar bulan dan bintang ikut menyusup. Saat itu pula sang gagak bertengger di puncak pohon mangga. Ikut lelap tertidur.

Empat puluh hari aku mendiami kamar ini. Sangat nyaman.

Aneh!

Setiap malam sebelum tidur.

Saat ini berat badanku tinggal 40kg dari 64kg.

Putus asa! Tak tau apa yang terjadi pada diriku!

Tengah malam, sebelum tidur, aku memandang keluar jendela.

imagination

Dsc00085_4use your imagination! Not day dreaming, not fantasy, but imagination!

He restores my soul with the fresh water from the EAST COAST BEACH. Wow, I could not imagine would have lived around this place. The place is just ordinary ’singapore’ so is the beach, not really special. But to live by the beach is just a nice experience. The fresh salty breath, the sprinkle and the white foams, the endless horizon, the stillness and roar of waves, and the foot-print on the sand.

at night, just a couple hours before 2007 coming, I walked around the beach, with my imagination wishing and praying for all the best I can achieve in 2007. But the truth is, there’s nothing to ask God for, instead I suppose to give Him all the big thanks for all the things I had passed in 2006. Yes, instead of asking God to bless us, why dont we use some preciuos moment to thank Him, bless Him and let Him restores our mind and soul with the fresh water; new annointing!

Use your imagination! He brought me with His Wing to fly at the beginning of this year and land at the side of this beach. what next for coming year?

We’ll see,

Use your imagination!

He’s a God of wonders!

light

Light o holy night… the star are brightly shining…

The candle nite at city harvest church.

Light! Shining bright!

I got my light! Build my direction, passion & vision for coming year! 2006 was amazing. Just realised, I’ve been through great moment and difficult time. Dynamic challange, new enlightment, distorted perspectives. I’ve made the right decision in many crossroads. yes, it was amazing.

Though the journey is still long and the path is getting rough and taft, but i believe I am heading to somewhere, a promised land, hahaha! And all I need is just His LIGHT! yes, light my way, my path, my vision!

Architecture is a compassion! Photography is a desire! Art is an imagination! Love is a life! Knowledge is a direction! Success is a grace! And His Light is everything!

All that I need for 2007!

sketch

Sunken_garden_19Pers4_2 sketch of a sunken garden.

You need to put some simple colors into your life. perfection is not necessary. precision too. also great harmony, details and reality.

let the colors flow, so is the life. Every parts of it is unique and precious. So is every moment and process I went through.

Sketch is so powerful. beyond dreams and imagination. as far as your courage can break through all the baoundaries.

Sketch is fantasy yet reality. Fantasy when you can only dream without enough faith. reality when you put enough determination, faith and His GRACE!

Sketch is a languange, expression, communication.

Instead of saying it with flower, gift or chocolate, I’d love to saying it with sketch.

I love my life! magnificent! Blessed, forgiven & loved!

lost

Lost

He puts plenty of vision and I reach for plenty of dreams.

But when I wake up and see my realm, I am lost!

Totally lose my way!

All the distractions, doubts and chaos are surrounding me.

I am lost! Totally dark!

Please, how can I live like this?

let me go, show the way out!

I have to step out… with You!

(all around Geylang Lor 26, a new urban realm. A phenomenon or ‘urban design’ come just in front of my eyes, teach me how to learn!)

Let it Rain

November 9th, 2006 by irsphoto

Img_4087

Looking through Ian’s terrace, I enjoy the smell of rain, earth and the jungle. Such a beautiful nature. Green grass and the leaves from tropical plants mix with the brown earth which showered by plenty of raindrops fallin from somewhere out there… such a perfect place, beautiful house.

Today I went for interview with SCDA architect. Great architects, great reputation, but seems I don’t belong there. Working in the small space and well-dressed, people in this place just look cool. Handsome guys and pretty gils. The workplace is just too rigid. not what i expected. not an artist studio. And thier last statement was, I have no strong experience in building-architecture. A very positive input to build my qualification in this area, though I am not interested for ‘project architect’ position. Just love art and design, though I have clear no idea who they are…

JGP architects, at last gave me offer to join their team. Sounds promising, but I am afraid my EP with Andy Fisher is closed to approval. Nancy told me that, she saw on the web, it’s approved! Yes, I hope it’s true! Let it Rain!

The "BLINK" that I’ve read though very impressive, actually is not applied yet in my brain system in making a fast and accurate decision. It just takes time! I love these challenge. The more I walk through, the more I am sure, It’s gonna be raining. Let it Rain!

Though I love Chopin, Isamu Noguchi, Andy Wahrol, and all the manifestos of ART that Ian has shown, but this time I cant stay for it. I have to move, again, to reality– the ordinary office with ordinary works and routines but with His ordinary inspirations. I believe I’m gonna make it. Yes, just let it rain!

You’ll just love Rain when you live in such a HOT place like Singapore.

(what you see in the image is basin with jungle at the back. Physically It has nothing to do with the rain, but philosophically It has!)
